Looking for the perfect space to host your next meeting, workshop, or group activity? Vines Road Community Centre offers a range of affordable, diverse rooms for hire — but when you book with us, you’re doing more than just securing a venue.
Every dollar from room hire goes directly back into the community. Your support helps fund vital programs, free community events, our food relief table, and provides resources for our dedicated volunteers and small staff team.
We offer reduced-rate hire options to keep our spaces accessible and inclusive, supporting local groups, small businesses, and not-for-profit organisations. All you need to hire a room is current public liability insurance.
Please note, we are unable to hire our rooms for private parties or personal events.

Our fabulous Hall is the jewel of our Community Centre! This is a beautiful, large space, and is popular with a large array of groups including dance, martial arts, playgroups, fitness, performing arts, music, events, faith and table tennis – to name just a few! We have two types of chairs available to set up as you need, many tables, and even two stages. The Hall connects to our Kitchen (available as a separate hire) with a café-style servery. The rear of the Hall exits to a fenced courtyard via one door, and the other to CoGG Skate Park and the VRCC carpark. This space not only looks impressive in person, it comes up beautifully in photos!

We are very proud of our Community Kitchen boasting all the bells and whistles to make your next cooking class, community event, cooking demonstration, or social cooking group a great success. We were fortunate to purchase an awesome new cooker with CoGG funding that has a double oven and induction cooktop. Chairs are available to enjoy your cook up at the small table. This space is used by cooking classes, a culinary school, our community kitchens, Vines Road Senior Citizens Club and for events. The room links to MP3 /4 and our Hall, both available for separate hire.

Multipurpose Room 1 is a light-filled space with proximity to our toilets (including disabled toilet with change table and hoist), the exit to our carpark, and foyer kitchenette. The room is equipped with chairs and tables to set up as you desire in classroom, theatre or board room style. An ideal space for meetings, presentations, training / courses, floor fitness classes, young children’s activities requiring a carpeted floor, or craft groups.

Multipurpose Room 2 provides a private space, set up in a permanent classroom setting. This room, which we share with the Vines Road Senior Citizens Club, boasts a new 100-inch smart tv providing an impressive screen for presentations. This space is close to our toilet facilities (including disabled toilet with change table and hoist), the exit to our carpark, and our foyer kitchenette. MP2 is ideal for classes, presentations, meetings, and craft groups.

Multipurpose Room 3/4 is a unique space, called 3/4 because it is equipped with wall dividers enabling the user to create up to three separate rooms within the one space. This room is private, with windows that face the foyer, and a door which links on to our kitchen (which is a separate hire). If available, the room next door can also be hired (MP5) to open the area into one very large, carpeted space.
Chairs and tables are available to create the set up that you desire. This space is popular with support organisations, children’s music classes, faith groups, and fitness groups requiring a carpeted space.

Multipurpose Room 5 is a popular light-filled space which opens on to our fenced community garden, and to the CoGG Skate Park. Chairs and tables are available to create the space you need, this room is popular with fitness classes like yoga, playgroups, training classes, art groups, and support organisations.

Our Computer Room currently has good availability and is a blank canvas for any group. Opening onto our courtyard and with close proximity to our kitchenette, toilet facilities (including disabled toilet with change table and hoist), and the exit to our carpark. It is set up in conference / workshop room style, but the tables are easy to move or put away in any configuration you require. The computers available are aged, but usable for basic functions like internet searches or checking email. This space is mostly popular with training courses, but it is also used for singing lessons, our craft group, and reflexology.

A quality fitness space with a mirror and timber-look floor can be difficult to find, but VRCC is fortunate to have just the space for our community with our Fitness Room. A fantastic space for dance and fitness classes but also used by health professionals including Occupational Therapists due to the clinical advantage of the large mirror for their clients. The room also has great acoustics, so is a favourite of our performing arts and faith groups. The room comes free of furniture, but chairs and tables are available as required.

Our Boardroom is a professional space ready for your next meeting, interview, tutoring, or counselling session. With newly added privacy blinds, two lounge armchairs for informal sitting, and a 10-seat Board table, this room provides privacy and professionalism in a community setting. This is our only room that has a kitchenette available in the space for your private use with microwave, bar fridge and sandwich maker. The room also boasts access to our gardened courtyard area.

Our Wellness Room is a currently under-utilised space, just waiting for a beautician, masseuse, or health professional to operate their business from our Community Centre. This room is hired one day per week by our wonderful podiatrist, but it has so much potential for so much more! A discounted hire rate is offered for this room, and we are open to redecorating ideas to meet the needs of a potential hirer.

Additional Information
- We have a variety of rooms for hire to suit your needs. VRCC hosts over 50 programs and activities, you can book an in-person tour or view our virtual tour. Once you have selected a space, we check availability and work with you to lock in the best time.
- Payment for casual hire is requested prior to your event, regular hires are invoiced monthly.
- We offer free local area marketing support via our website, socials, Google, posters, flyers and our ‘What’s On’ publication. We want your business / event to be successful and fully engage our community.
- Our office hours are limited to 9.00am – 2.00pm, Monday – Friday but we provide afterhours access to the Centre with security swipe and keys. Our office is closed on Public Holidays, and we recognise Geelong Cup Day.
- Rates are set annually at our Annual General Meeting, and we work hard to ensure the rates are competitive and affordable.
- Hirers are required to provide a current copy of their public liability insurance prior to any hire.
- Strictly no private parties.
- Your hire is restricted to the room you hire and the equipment available in that space, you cannot use other rooms unless they are booked or obtain equipment from outside the room you have hired unless prior arrangements have been made with our office staff / volunteers.
- VRCC operates under a tight budget with limited staffing, therefore it is the responsibility of the hirer to pack up and clean the space, and return the room as they found it, ready for the next hire. We provide all cleaning equipment for your use.
- Catering is available from local providers – hirers arrange this themselves. Hirers must provide own crockery, utensils etc. unless they hire equipped spaces i.e. Kitchen or Boardroom.
- We have a DVD player available to borrow if needed.
- Carparking is unlimited out the front (unless signed) and in our rear carpark off Waymouth Street.
- Our doors open from 8.45am – 2pm daily. The carpark door operates automatically.
- Our reception closes for one month over the Christmas period, from the week of Christmas to the third week of January.
- Regular Hires must complete a User Agreement annually to lock in their hire for the following year. This document is emailed in October.
